01
How crowded it is
Nobody owns this audience. The 10 biggest advertisers run 17% of the ads, and 1,164 advertisers run just one. Most of what is live today went up in the last few weeks.
New ads every week
Ads still live today, by the week they launched. Ads that have already stopped don't appear, so earlier weeks read low. The last column is the week in progress.
Last full week (18 Oct)8,294new ads from 1,036 advertisers. 583 of them had no earlier ad still running.
02
People on GLP-1s are an audience, not a market
A search for "GLP-1" finds every ad that names the drug. The people those ads reach are also shopping for hair, gut, skin and menopause products, and the same brands follow them there.
Of the advertisers in each of these neighbouring searches, this share also run GLP-1 ads:
- Hair loss
- Menopause
- Creatine
- Protein powder
- Collagen
- Magnesium
Each neighbouring search is its first 1,000 live US ads in Meta's Ad Library, checked against the advertisers in our GLP-1 pull.
03
How crowded each need is
So we scored the audience one need at a time: the ads that speak to people on GLP-1s about each thing. Getting the drug is the most crowded at 88 out of 100. After the drug itself, keeping muscle is the busiest need at 80. Stopping the drug is the emptiest at 55: 177 advertisers and 2,215 ads.
| Need | Competition score | Advertisers | Live ads | Last 30 days | Top 10 hold |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Getting the drugOnline prescribers and clinics selling the medication | 88 | 958 | 15,263 | 79% | 27% |
| Keeping muscleMuscle loss, protein, strength | 80 | 533 | 3,105 | 69% | 24% |
| Gut and constipationNausea, bloating, constipation, digestion | 78 | 574 | 6,751 | 56% | 36% |
| Skin and "Ozempic face"Loose skin, sagging, the face | 75 | 403 | 2,303 | 72% | 35% |
| Hair lossShedding and thinning on the drug | 74 | 313 | 2,472 | 72% | 32% |
| Menopause and hormonesWomen on GLP-1s in perimenopause or menopause | 69 | 385 | 3,726 | 56% | 51% |
| Stopping the drugComing off, regaining weight, keeping results | 55 | 177 | 2,215 | 41% | 62% |
The score is the average of four parts, each 0 to 100. Advertisers: 10 scores 0, 500 scores 100. Live ads: 100 scores 0, 10,000 scores 100 (both on a log scale). Last 30 days: the share itself. Top 10 hold: 100 minus their share. A need is matched from the ad's own words, and an ad can count towards several.

Where there's still room
Life after the drug
2,215 ads, 6% of the total, talk to people stopping the drug or trying to keep the weight off, a moment most of these customers reach. Only 177 advertisers do it, the ten biggest run 62% of those ads, and only 41% launched in the last 30 days.
New buyers in the auction
41 law firms recruit for lawsuits over vision loss and stomach problems, 61 research sites recruit for trials, and Kroger's pharmacies run GLP-1 ads under Ralphs, Fry's, King Soopers and Smith's.

How we did this
On 28 October 2026 we searched Meta's Ad Library for active ads shown in the US that mention GLP-1, Ozempic, Wegovy, semaglutide, tirzepatide, Mounjaro or Zepbound, and read every result we were given: 35,759 different ads. Meta's own counts are higher (50,000+ for "GLP-1" alone), so treat our advertiser and ad counts as a floor.
Advertiser types and themes come from each ad's text and the page it links to, checked by hand for the 80 biggest advertisers. They are approximate. Launch dates are Meta's. We can see what ads say and how long they run, not how much anyone spends or what sells.
